Olive oil for healthy coat and skin.

With it being the middle of winter, we as humans, spend a great deal of time battling dry skin. We use moisturizing soaps, shampoos, hand lotions by the gallon and even stronger items like aquaphor and corn husker’s lotion. But what do we use on our best friends to ensure their skin is moisturized? Most of you will respond “nothing.” Buried under that beautiful coat of fur is skin that is as dry and flaky as yours or mine. We tend not to do anything about it because we can’t see it. Out of sight, out of mind.
We need to pay close attention to our canines during the winter so that there are less problems during the spring and summer. By doing things as simple as adding a tablespoon of olive oil (for a medium to large dog) once or twice a week, we can ensure that our wonderful friends skin is just as moisturized as our own. Hell, maybe even more so. Some people, and vets, also adding fish oil to your dogs feeding schedule. This is great for the skin, coat, and over all health of your canine.
Please keep your loved ones healthy.
We <3 them.
